Houston's urban forest and its
health help control pollution. Controlling invasive plants and
rein-troducing native plantings contributes to the forest's
health and esthetic appeal of the park for all users. After
removing invasive plants the natural beauty of the understory
is restored with native Texas grasses, wildflowers and other
plants. Native plants have more ability to thrive as a result
of this work, thereby increasing the health of the forest, and
quality of life for all Houstonians.
